What is the Self Registration Tool?

The Self Registration Tool allows you to activate your secure e-mail account by creating your password and challenge questions.

In addition, the Self Registration Tool allows you to manage your password and other account information online.

Which password do I use to log in to the Self Registration Tool?

If this is your first time accessing the Self Registration Tool, use the password you setup during the activation process.
-OR-
If you previously submitted a password change through the Self Registration Tool, use the updated password specified for your account.

Whom do I contact if I receive an error message?

Select "Technical Support" at the top of the screen. You will be prompted for your User ID. Your User ID will be used to instantly find your bank contact information.

What are challenge questions?

Challenge questions allow you to reset your password that you have forgotten.

During account activation, you will be prompted to create six challenge questions and answers.

If you forget your password, click "Forgot your password" link on the Self-Registration Tool log in screen. You will be prompted to answer three randomly selected challenge questions in order to verify your identity.

Why do I have to set up six challenge questions?

Bank of America Corporate Information Security requires that a minimum of six challenge questions be established when used to verify your identity.

Can I set up more than six challenge questions?

No, you cannot set up more than six challenge questions.

How often can I change my password?

You can change your password only once every 24 hours.

When I change my password using the Self Registration Tool, what systems are affected?

Please contact your Support Administrator to determine which systems utilize the same user ID and password. If you do not know who your Support Administrator is, click on the Technical Support link at the top of the page to obtain this information.

What will I need to do if I am locked out of my account?

In order to unlock your account or password, you will need to contact technical support. If you do not know who your Support Administrator is, click on the Technical Support link at the top of the page to obtain this information.

Logging in to the Self Registration Tool > First-time users
Step Action Result
1 Navigate to the Self Registration Tool Log In screen. The Log In screen appears.
2 Enter your User ID. The User ID displays.
3 Enter the Password set via the account activation process. The password displays as ******** for security purposes.
4 Click Submit. The Self Registration Tool validates your User ID and password, and you are successfully logged in.

Logging in to the Self Registration Tool > Existing users who have previously logged in to the Self-Registration Tool and submitted a password change
Step Action Result
1 Navigate to the Self Registration Tool Log In screen. The Log In screen appears.
2 Enter your User ID. The User ID displays.
3 Enter the new password previously set via the Change Password screen. The Password displays as ******** for security purposes.
4 Click Submit. The Self Registration Tool validates your User ID and password, and you are successfully logged in.

2 Click "Forgot your Password?" The Reset Password screen appears.
3 You will be prompted to answer three challenge questions. Your answers displays a ******** for security purposes.
4 Click Submit. If your answers are validated, you are directed to the Change Password screen.
5 Enter a new password. The Password displays as ******** for security purposes.
6 Re-type the new password. The Password displays as ******** for security purposes.
7 Click Submit. The Self Registration tool validates the password, and a password change e-mail notification is sent to the e-mail address specified on your account.

Create Challenge Questions
Step Action Result
1 To create challenge questions and answers, navigate to the Self Registration Tool Create Challenge Questions screen. The Create Challenge Questions and Answers screen appears.
2 Select a challenge question from the drop-down list. The selected challenge question is highlighted in the drop-down box.
3 Type an appropriate response to the selected challenge question in the provided Answer text box. Your answer displays. Repeat step for all six Questions.
4 Click Submit. The Self Registration Tool saves the challenge questions and answers.

Changing Your Password
Step Action Result
1 Navigate to the Change Password screen. The Change Password screen appears.
2 Enter a new password. The password displays as ******** for security purposes.
3 Re-type the new password. The password displays as ******** for security purposes.
4 Click Submit. The Self Registration tool validates the password and a password change e-mail notification is sent to the e-mail address specified on your account.

Password Rules
1 Minimum length is eight characters.
2 Must include both numbers and letters.
3 A single number cannot be the first or last character.
4 Cannot contain the user's first name, last name, User ID, or e-mail address.
5 Must be different from the last eight passwords used.

Unlocking Your Account
Step Action Result
1 Select the Technical Support option on the upper right hand side of the screen. The Technical Support screen appears.
2 Type in your User ID in the field provided and click the Submit button. The appropriate Bank contact information is displayed.
3 Please e-mail or call the Bank contact to request that your account be unlocked. Instructions will be sent to the e-mail address you provided.

Retrieving a Forgotten User ID
Step Action Result
1 From the log in screen, click "Forgot your User ID?". The Retrieve User ID screen appears.
2 Enter your First Name. The First Name displays.
3 Enter your Last Name. The Last Name displays.
4 Enter your E-mail Address. The e-mail Address displays.
5 Click Submit. The Self Registration Tool validates the information and sends you a User ID reminder e-mail containing your User ID.
